Yes. When you pay for an item, your money is held in escrow, not released to the seller. It's only paid out once you confirm the item has arrived and matches what was listed, or automatically after 3 days if you don't raise an issue. If something's wrong, you can open a dispute before release and get a full refund.
Every seller submits a valid government-issued ID (like a NIN slip, driver's license, or international passport) before they're allowed to publish a listing. Until that's complete, they can save drafts, but nothing goes live.
You're covered. Because payment sits in escrow until you confirm receipt, you can inspect what you've received before that money ever reaches the seller. If it's not as described, you raise a dispute and get a full refund, no chasing the seller yourself.
Yes. Most listings let you make an offer instead of paying the asking price straight away. Sellers can accept, counter, or decline, and every offer has a clear response window so you're never left waiting indefinitely.
Every seller sets it upfront for their listing, either free delivery to select areas, or pickup, so you'll always know before you buy exactly how you'll get your item.
Nothing extra. Browsing and buying on Zovanu doesn't add hidden fees on top of what a seller lists; you pay what you agreed to pay.
New sellers get a free trial period to list and sell before any subscription applies. After that, sellers choose a plan that fits how much they're selling. Full pricing details will be shared as we open up access.
We're launching first in Nigeria, with plans to expand into more markets, including Ghana and Kenya, as we grow. We're onboarding in small batches to keep quality high, so availability will expand steadily rather than all at once.

Right now, Zovanu works directly in your browser, and you can install it to your home screen in a couple of taps; it'll open and feel just like a regular app from there. A dedicated app for the App Store and Google Play is coming in the future.
Please read these carefully. They set out the rules for using Zovanu and limit our liability.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Zovanu website, waitlist, applications and services (together, the “Service”), operated by Zovanu (“Zovanu”, “we”, “us”). By joining the waitlist, creating an account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is currently in a pre-launch phase. Features described on this site are indicative and may change, be delayed, or be withdrawn before general availability.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business to these Terms.
You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law, or if we have previously suspended or removed your account.
Zovanu is a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers and provides supporting services including identity verification and protected payment (escrow) handling. Zovanu is not the buyer or seller in any transaction listed on the Service.
Contracts for the sale of goods are formed directly between the buyer and the seller. Zovanu does not own, inspect, warehouse, or take title to listed items, and does not guarantee the existence, quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of any listing. Verification of a seller's identity is not an endorsement of that seller or of any item they list.
You must provide accurate, current and complete information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials confidential. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
Sellers must complete identity verification, including submission of a valid government-issued identification document, before publishing a listing. We may refuse, suspend or revoke verification at our discretion, including where information appears inaccurate, altered, or fraudulent.
Sellers are solely responsible for their listings, including descriptions, images, pricing, availability, delivery arrangements, and compliance with all applicable laws, licensing requirements and taxes.
You may not list, sell or attempt to sell: stolen goods; counterfeit or infringing items; firearms, ammunition, explosives or other weapons; controlled substances, prescription medicines or drug paraphernalia; human remains or bodily fluids; live animals where prohibited; hazardous or recalled materials; government identification, uniforms or official documents; items promoting hatred or violence; sexual services or sexually explicit material; or any other item prohibited by law or by our published policies.
We may remove any listing, and suspend any account, at our discretion and without prior notice where we reasonably believe this clause has been breached.
Where protected payment is offered, buyer funds are held by a licensed third-party payment provider and released to the seller upon your confirmation of receipt, or automatically after the release window stated at checkout if no dispute has been raised. Escrow is a payment-handling arrangement; it is not insurance, and it is not a banking service provided by Zovanu.
Zovanu operates on a subscription model for sellers and does not take a commission on completed sales. Payment processing fees, delivery charges, and taxes may apply and will be shown before you commit. Subscription fees are billed in advance and, except where required by law, are non-refundable for the period already begun.
We may change our pricing on notice. Continued use of a paid feature after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
If an item is not received, or does not match its listing, you must raise a dispute before confirming receipt or before the automatic release window closes. We will review the listing, messages exchanged on the Service, and any available delivery record, and will decide the release or refund of held funds.
Our dispute decisions relate only to the release of funds we hold. They are not a legal determination of the parties' rights, and they do not prevent either party from pursuing any remedy otherwise available to them.
You agree not to: circumvent the Service to transact off-platform in order to avoid fees or protections; misrepresent your identity or affiliation; scrape, crawl, or harvest data; interfere with or probe the Service or its infrastructure; upload malicious code; use the Service for money laundering, fraud, or any unlawful purpose; harass, threaten or defame any user; or infringe any third party's rights.
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics and marks, is owned by Zovanu or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose.
You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content you grant Zovanu a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt and display that content for the purpose of operating, promoting and improving the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zovanu, its directors, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total fees you paid to Zovanu in the three months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) NGN 50,000.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Zovanu and its directors, employees and agents from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, where we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, where required by law, or where necessary to protect the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions which by their nature should survive termination will survive.
We may amend these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by email or an in-product notice. Changes take effect on the date stated, and your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria. Before commencing proceedings, the parties agree to attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute by negotiation for a period of thirty (30) days.

How we collect, use and protect your personal data, and the rights you have over it.
This Privacy Policy explains how Zovanu (“Zovanu”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you join our waitlist or use our services. Zovanu is the data controller for the personal data described here.
We process personal data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and, where applicable, other data protection laws that apply to you.
When you join the waitlist: your name, email address, whether you intend to buy, sell or both, and technical data collected automatically: your IP address, browser user agent, and the date and time of your submission.
When you use the platform (post-launch): account details; identity verification data including a government-issued identification document and the results of verification checks; listing and transaction data; messages exchanged with other users; delivery information; payment metadata handled by our payment provider; and support correspondence.
We do not collect or store full card numbers. Card details are handled directly by our licensed payment provider.
We share personal data only as necessary, with: our hosting and infrastructure providers; our email delivery provider; our payment and escrow provider; our identity verification provider; and professional advisers. Each acts on our instructions under a written agreement.
We may disclose personal data where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a competent authority, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We may also transfer data in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal data.
Some of our providers process data outside Nigeria. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we rely on an adequacy determination, on contractual safeguards, or on another lawful transfer mechanism recognised under the NDPA, and we take reasonable steps to ensure an equivalent standard of protection.
Waitlist data is retained until we launch and complete onboarding, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first, and is then deleted or anonymised. Account, transaction and verification records are retained for the life of the account and afterwards for as long as needed to meet legal, accounting, tax and dispute-resolution obligations.
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls on the systems that hold personal data, storage of submissions outside the public web root, rate limiting and abuse detection on public endpoints, and validation of all submitted input. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission and, where required, you, in line with the NDPA.
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to request access to your personal data; to have inaccurate data corrected; to request erasure; to object to or request restriction of processing; to receive your data in a portable format; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@zovanu.com. We will respond within the period required by law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Every email we send about the waitlist includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes you from the list.
This waitlist page does not set advertising or tracking cookies. If we introduce analytics or other non-essential technologies, we will update this Policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Where changes are material we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Questions, requests, or complaints can be sent to privacy@zovanu.com.
